Description

Senokot Max Strength Tablets 12 years plus 48 tablets are the herbal remedy, containing natural senna and fennel to treat constipation and bloating but double the strength to regular Senokot Relief Tablets. The dandelion root in the ingredients stimulates bile production, so you can get on with your life without any irritation or uncomfortable moments.

Drug Safety Update: measures for stimulant laxatives.

Stimulant laxatives should only be used if other laxatives (bulk-forming and osmotic) are ineffective. Children younger than 12 years should not use stimulant laxatives without advice from a prescriber and clinical guidance should be followed.

Uses / Instructions

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years:

1 tablet taken at night.
Should not be used in children or adolescents under the age of 12 years

Duration of use

Not to be used for more than 1 week.
Usually it is sufficient to take this medicinal product up to two to three times during that week.
If the symptoms persist during the use of the medicinal product, a doctor or a pharmacist should be consulted.

Warnings

Do not take if you:

Are allergic to any of the ingredients Have blockage or narrowing of the gastro-intestinal tract or bowel (ileus, intestinal obstruction or stenosis).
Have paralysis or a lack of muscle tone in the bowel (atony).
Have appendicitis, inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.
Have severe dehydration.
Have persistent or undiagnosed abdominal complaints e.g pain, nausea, or vomiting.
Have faecal impaction or rectal bleeding for which you don’t know the cause, or blood in your stools.
Have already taken a laxative and are still constipated.
Have had a sudden change in bowel habit that has lasted for more than 2 weeks.
Are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Have kidney or heart failure.
Are under 12 years of age.
