Description
Nurofen Express 256mg Tablets/Caplets provides rapid effective relief from severe headache. They contain a form of ibuprofen that breaks down easily in the body. This act further makes it easier for the body to absorb it into the bloodstream and so gets to the source of pain quickly with effective outcomes. The medication relieves headaches, period pain, dental pain, feverishness, migraine, backache, muscular pain, rheumatic pain, neuralgia, cold & flu symptoms.
Please note Caplets are Tablets in the shape of capsules so are easier to swallow for those who find it difficult.
Uses / Instructions
For oral administration and short term use only.
Adults, the elderly and children aged 12 years and over swallow 1 or 2 caplet with water, up to three times a day as required.
Leave at least 4 hours between doses.
Warnings
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
- Speak to your doctor or our pharmacist if you have or had asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, a stroke, heart, liver or bowel problems, are a smoker or pregnant.
- Not to be given to children under the age of 12 years.

Side Effects
Nurofen Express 256mg tablets/caplets are generally well tolerated by most people. However side effects may occur.
STOP TAKING the medicine and seek immediate medical help if you develop:
• signs of intestinal bleeding such as: bright red faeces (stools/motions), black tarry stools, vomiting blood or dark particles that look like coffee grounds.
• signs of serious allergic reaction such as:
– difficulties in breathing or unexplained wheezing
– dizziness or faster heartbeat,
– severe forms of skin reactions such as itchiness, skin rash with redness, peeling, flaking or blistering (e.g. Steven-Johnson syndrome)
– swelling of your face, tongue or throat
• signs of kidney problems such as:
– passing less or more urine
– cloudy urine or blood in urine
– pain in the back and/or swelling (particularly in the legs)
• signs of aseptic meningitis with neck stiffness, headache, feeling sick, being sick, fever or disorientation. Patients with autoimmune disorders (lupus, mixed connective tissue disease) may be more likely to be affected.
• a severe skin reaction known as DRESS syndrome can occur. Symptoms of DRESS include: skin rash, fever, swelling of lymph nodes and an increase of eosinophils (a type of white blood cells).

Ingredients
Each tablet contains the active ingredient Ibuprofen 200mg (as Sodium Ibuprofen 256mg). Also contains: Croscarmellose sodium, Xylitol, Microcrystalline cellulose, Magnesium stearate, Colloidal anhydrous silica, Carmellose sodium, Talc, Acacia spray dried, Sucrose, Titanium dioxide (E171), Macrogol 6000 powder, and Black ink (contains shellac, iron oxide black (E172) and propylene glycol).
