What is athlete’s foot?

Athlete’s foot is a fungal skin infection which happens when the natural fungi on your skin are allowed to multiply and cause infection. This usually happens if you have feet which sweat a lot and wear tight-fitting shoes. This warm, moist environment is the perfect place for these fungi to thrive, causing a sore and itchy rash when your skin is infected.

How does Daktarin Aktiv Cream treat athlete’s foot?

Daktarin Aktiv Cream contains the active ingredient miconazole nitrate, which helps to treat athlete’s foot by killing the fungi and bacteria which cause the infection in the first place. It also acts as a moisturiser, helping to soothe the cracked and red skin caused by athlete’s foot. Additionally aside from treating the causes of Athlete’s Foot, Daktarin Aktiv Cream prevents fungi from spreading and causing unpleasant smells and discomfort.

Uses / Instructions

Adults and children should clean and dry the affected area thoroughly.
Apply Daktarin Aktiv Cream twice daily to the affected area.
Continue treatment for two weeks after signs of infection have cleared.

Side Effects

Daktarin Aktiv Cream can have side-effects, like all medicines, although these don’t affect everyone and are usually mild.
If you experience any of the following, stop using the medicine and seek immediate medical help:

■ Difficulty in swallowing or breathing
■ Itchy rash (hives)
