Product Overview:

SMA® Alfamino® is a hypoallergenic, amino acid-based infant formula meticulously designed to manage severe cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA), multiple food protein allergies (MFPA), and other conditions requiring amino acid-based nutrition. This nutritionally complete formula supports infants from birth and can be used for supplementary feeding from 6 months up to 3 years of age.

SMA Alfamino is an amino acid, non-allergenic, specialist infant formula for the dietary management of severe/complex symptoms of cows’ milk protein allergy (CMA) and/or multiple food protein allergies. SMA Alfamino can also be used in the dietary management of those infants who experience no improvement on extensively hydrolysed infant formulas. Alfamino is nutritionally complete and has a preferred taste over other amino acid formulas to support increased acceptability. SMA Alfamino is designed to support growth, tolerance and absorption in the most challenging allergy conditions. Free from cows’ milk, soy and coconut.

Uses / Instructions

Wash hands well
Wash bottle, teat, and cap.
Sterilise equipment (by boiling for 5 minutes or with a cold water sterilising solution).
Boil drinking (tap) water. Allow to cool for no more than 30 minutes.
Pour exact amount of water into the sterilised bottle carefully to avoid scalds, the water is hot.
Add exact number of level scoops for age of baby.
Place the sterilised teat and cap on the bottle and shake well until powder is fully dissolved. Cool bottle under cold running water until lukewarm. Test the temperature by shaking a few drops onto the inside of your wrist.
Close tin tightly after each use and store in a cool dry place. Use within 3 weeks of opening.

The advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian or pharmacist on the need for and proper method of use of infant milks and on all matters of infant feeding should be sought.
Good maternal nutrition is important for the preparation and maintenance of breastfeeding.
Introducing partial bottle-feeding may have a negative effect on breastfeeding and reversing a decision not to breastfeed is difficult.
Infant milk should always be prepared and used as directed.
Inappropriate foods or feeding methods, or improper use of infant formula, may present a health hazard.
