Description
Zeus, the Greek god of the sky and thunder, stands on a billowing cloud as he strides forward, preparing to thrust a lightning bolt from his hand, the Aetos Dios, or golden eagle, sits perched on his shoulder. Zeus ruled as the king of the gods of Mount Olympus, overseeing the universe. He was a child of Cronus and Rhea, who gave birth to several children whom Cronus swallowed to prevent being overthrown. When Zeus was born, Rhea handed Cronus a rock swaddled in clothing in order to save him, allowing Cronus to receive his retribution. Zeus eventually freed his siblings from Cronus, as well as the brothers of Cronus. Cyclopes, a brother, gave Zeus thunder and lightning in appreciation. Intricately sculpted in cold cast bronze, a process of mixing bronze powder with resin, the finish has a lustrous metal appearance, making this statue a stand-out piece. 19.5 inches high, 13 inches long, and 10 inches wide. Any Greek mythology or fantasy art collection is incomplete without this exciting Zeus piece!
