When his National Guard unit is deployed to Iraq, Lieutenant Danny Sefton is granted a questionable transfer that will keep him in the U.S. When one of his unit finds that his son is sick he asks Danny to help him go AWOL so that he can avoid returning to the war zone. This forces Danny to choose between his friend and the army as they embark on a dangerous mission to try and outwit the military that could have a devastating outcome for them both.
