Description

Simmer in soups and stews for extra flavour. An 80g serving (3 heaped tablespoons of cooked green lentils) counts as 1 portion of your 5 a day fruit and vegetables.

Uses / Instructions

These instructions are given as a guide. Please ensure that the product is piping hot throughout before serving. No need to soak. Rinse thoroughly before cooking. 1. Place 100g of lentils into a large saucepan with 500ml of water. 2. Place the pan on the medium hob ring over a high heat. Bring to the boil and boil for 10 minutes. 3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, until the lentils have softened but are slightly firm to the bite. 4. Drain thoroughly, rinse and use as required. When cooked according to instructions, 35g of uncooked green lentils weighs approximately 80g.
