How will these Dihydrocodeine tablets help to ease my pain?
Paramol tablets contain 500mg of paracetamol and 7.46mg dihydrocodeine, and paracetamol and dihydrocodeine work together to relieve pain where other painkillers, like paracetamol alone, ibuprofen, and aspirin alone, are not enough. Paracetamol is a regular painkiller which may also help reduce a high temperature and fever. Dihydrocodeine is a strong analgesic, which may be used with other painkillers to relieve moderate pains.
Is Dihydrocodeine addictive?
You are very unlikely to become addicted to dihydrocodeine in a form that is taken in tabs such as Paramol, as long as you follow the instructions by your pharmacist or the manufacturer carefully. BUT, if you have been taking this product for a long time, even if supervised by a doctor you may be dependent on it, so you will need to wean off it. Also those who use dihydrocodeine as a recreational substance in order to get high probably have much more of a chance of getting addicted to it than those people who use the product for its pain relief properties.
